Mix & Match: Stretch Christmas Into Winter

Sometimes I'm enjoying a color palette so much, I use it again in another collection. I took the pastels from the Candy Cane Lane Christmas collection, added a lighter candy purple and a darker aqua blue, and built the Snowlicious winter collection. Mix and match between the fabric collections to expand your stash, or zero in on a color palette to tell a particular story.

Go modern with pink & mint. Add more variety to the Candy Cane Lane colorways with the snowflakes and dots from Snowlicious. More cream, pink, and mint backgrounds offset the bright green grounds.

Stretch a red-and-pink Christmas into winter by mixing in all the pink and white snowflake and polka dot patterns with the red and pink candy canes, stripes, and sweets.

Shift a pastel Christmas toward winter by adding the aqua and purple snowflakes and dots to the pastel Christmas colorway.

You can also mix and match individual prints. Try the pastel candy cane damask fabric with the multicolor chunky snowflakes for a sweetcore Christmas. Or make it more coquette by matching the red & pink & white damask with some tossed snowflakes on a dark candy pink ground. Go soft by mixing the simple pink & cream candy canes on a mint ground with the airy snowflakes on a pink ground.

Christmas stays colorful when you mix the pastel peppermints fabric with the multicolor airy snowflakes. Add more confetti fun with the pastel gumdrops and some purple polka dots. Or use the blenders to fill in gaps in your stash — the pastel rainbow stripes paired with the aqua blue dots offer delicious contrast.

Snowlicious adds to the Candy Cane Lane Collection, stretching it beyond Christmas sewing into winter quilting and fabric projects. And the stripes and polka dots can be used year round.
